In today’s post, I wanted to share with you how the final book cover image looks.
You can only get to this stage once you have finalised the interior print file. This is because the spine width can only be calculated once you know how many pages you will have in the book.
So this is what my designer sent me:
At this stage you should:
- double check your name is spelt right!
- check the title is correct
- Check for spelling errors
Those with sharp eyes may notice that I changed the blurb…which is yet another example of how you can keep changing things right up till the end.
Take a look at my original blurb below which I agonised over the text for over a month.
Yet when it was laid out in the right format, I felt it looked like too much text. The blurb should be short, punchy and to the point.
So I shortened it and made it much more punchier (I hope!). Just another example of how you can apply an entrepreneurial attitude to any project.
The main things I learnt is that:
- you can always change things so focus on getting things done and executing
- Nothing is set in stone, You can always change things later so just DO IT!
- you can apply an entrepreneurial attitude to any project
