I can’t quite believe it but the month of November is over which also marks the official end of NaNoWriMo. Although I didn’t hit the 50,000 word target, I am still so happy I committed to writing almost every day and have approximately 20,000 words more than I did at the start of the month.
For those of you who participated and wrote but didn’t hit the target – worry not. As long as you write that is all that matters. This is they way we write and learn.
I will be writing a fuller blog post about the lessons I learnt during this month but for now I am going to celebrate my mini success of having completed and written a complete novel with a start, middle and end!
And it is important to celebrate those mini successes so please do make sure you acknowledge all your hard work.
Next steps for me will now involve reading what I wrote, editing the words and building out the novel further where required. It’s another exciting phase in the writing and learning process.
What was your experience of NaNoWritMo? I would love to hear from you!
